My husband and I wanted a wedding location that would allow our guests to not only enjoy the wedding, but also be able to put the time they had to take away from work towards a decent vacation as well. Many of my husband's family members had never been to Walt Disney World which I felt, as a native Floridian, was a tragedy.  Taking that information into account and since my relatives were split between Florida & Georgia, we felt that WDW was the perfect location for our wedding. Once we decided on the area, we started thinking about where in WDW best suited us. The answer to that question was the Yacht Club Resort hands down. We loved the gazebo for several reasons, but mainly because it needed very little in the way of decoration and the colors in the ballrooms very easily translated into our overall color scheme.

Having a Disney wedding allowed us to do so much for our guests that we never would have been able to pull off at an off-site location. Not only did we have a planner which was a must for me since I was trying to complete my graduate degree at the time, but we also were able to host a kids party during the ceremony, but we were also able to thank our guests with a private dessert party at Epcot complete with fireworks! Two years later, people still tell us how much fun they had celebrating our marriage with us. It always makes us happy to know that we were able to make the experience as unforgettable for them as it was for us.

My husband and I grew up loving everything about Disney and some of our first trips together were made to Disney World. It was only natural that we chose the place that meant so much to us as the location for our destination wedding. On a behind the scenes tour of Epcot we heard that wedding receptions could be help in truly unique locations in the theme parks, we instantly contacted the Disney Fairytale Wedding team.

From start to finish our Disney wedding was more than we could have ever dreamed or hoped for. The team that helped us bring our wedding to life treated us as if we were their only wedding. We felt like celebrities on our wedding day with the crew of Disney assistants there to make sure the entire day ran perfectly. Our wedding guests still speak of our day from the grandeur of the Wedding Pavilion, dancing in the Living Seas Lounge at Epcot while looking at sea turtles swim by, to the magic of dancing with Mickey, Minnie and Stitch.

Our favorite special addition was the VIP viewing of Illuminations at Italy Isola with all 100 of our guests. While Disney weddings aren’t cheap, we did save tons of money by not having a huge Northeast event and made the entire week a fun filled experience with family and friends. When I joined Disneymooners 5 years ago I not only found a group of like minded Disney fans who knew more than anyone on Disney Weddings, I also found a community where I never once had to explain why I chose Disney for my wedding.
